Kelley Sams
Kelley Sams est anthropologue et post-doctorante à l'Institut français de Recherche pour le Développement - UMR MERID (IRD - Université Paris Descartes) dans le cadre du programme de recherche Globalmed. Elle est actuellement accueillie au Centre Norbert Elias à Marseille.
Her work explores the circulation of medication and global health initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa. For Globalmed, she is contributing to the analysis of WP2 and dissemination of project results. After eight years of public health research and program implementation in West and Central Africa, she began engaging social science methods to critically explore the social and political effects of global health programs. Her PhD at the University of South Florida examined the interpretation and translation of a transnational trachoma elimination program in Niger. Kelley recently studied a Chinese global health malaria elimination program in the Comoros Union and actively participates in a working group on emerging epidemics. Kelley's research methods include ethnographic photography, quantitative, and qualitative methods. She teaches public health and anthropology in the US and in France.
